Odessa College Dual Credit

Our Mission

Our goal within the Dual Credit program at Odessa College is to enhance the college-going culture within the Permian Basin by ensuring that our students not only graduate high school with at least 6 semester hours of college credit aligned to a specific, career pathway, but seamlessly transition to earn a college credential as well as we want them to be viable members of their communities upon graduation. By tapping into community partners and businesses interested in supporting our school sites, we can promote a ‘pipeline of talent’ by which students re-invest in the communities that invested so much in them. This will thus lead to indelible and priceless returns in the communities we serve.

From our very humble beginnings in 1995 to our most recent ascent of over 1600 students in Fall 2016, we continue to serve and support the growing and unique needs of all high school learners within the Permian Basin. It is our collective hope that our region’s student experience has shifted from one of “progress” and high school graduation to a culture and expectation of “completion” and college graduation. We truly care about the life trajectory of each student we serve as we believe all students deserve the opportunity to pursue an excellent education – and one we deliver upon at Odessa College.
