Big Green Band state bound

The Monahans High School Big Green Band will head for state competition in San Antonio on Sunday, October 31, at 6:30 a.m. from the band hall.
According to band director Gerardo Loya, The group should march on Monday, November 1, between 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. at the Alamo Dome.
"They're excited and they're ready," said Loya. Monahans, Canyon, and Levelland were all selected for the state compotation after giving excellent presentation at the regional competition in Lubbock on Saturday.
According to Loya, the 170 member band will have plenty of support. Principal Riley, Superintendent Richardson and lots of Band Boosters will be joining them on their journey to the state finals.
"I really don't know what to say off the top of my head," said Loya. "I just hope we do well."
