At the recent solo and ensemble contest Monahans High School band members receiving a superior rating on a Class II solo included  Stephanie Gardner, Stormy Hablin, Tassie Huertas, Karina Ochoa, Candace Swarb, Whitney Gonzales, Corbin Saw, Liz Bouquin, Janessa Rodriguez, Laura Ramirez, Klarissa Loera, Melissa Ramirez and Brianna Williams, Erick Marquez, Chris Derrick, David Moser, Ross Powell, Alex Ligon, Matt Swanson, Joe Joe Birdwell, Cody Anthony, Brady Bean, Kenny Almanza, Cosme Ortega and Scott Robinson.
