Grad Adams Inducted into HSU Hall of
Fame The Monahans News -- November 5, 2003 |

Monahans graduate and tennis star Gene Adams was recently inducted into the Hardin-Simmons University Athletic Hall of fame. Adams, president of the first National Bank in Abilene, was a member of the 1953 HSU tennis team that won the National College Championship. He was ranked number five in the nation that year. The induction was part of a homecoming celebrations at the homecoming luncheon and the football game between HSU and East Baptist University that afternoon. Adams was the doubles partner of Charles Wolfe at MHS in 1949-50. They were district champions in'50, Adams' senior year. |
