Dan Gibbs standing in the bleachers at Lobo Stadium where he led the Big Green Band in rallying the Monahans Lobo football team to victory over a span of 20 years.  Gibbs, who retired as band director in 1982, has been voted into the Texas Bandmasters Hall of Fame.

The Big Green Band from Monahans High School was noted as a marching band under Gibbs.  Above is a closeup photograph of the band on the field.

Gibbs was particularly noted for his marching band star formation.
