MHS Class of '65 -- "45th Reunion"

Dear Friends from Monahans High School,

We trust you have survived, even enjoyed Christmas, New Year's, and are jazzed about the coming year.

We are gearing up for the 45th Reunion to be held in San Angelo on October 16, 17, and 18.

Karen Barnes Smith tells us that the remodel of the San Angelo Inn and Conference Center is progressing well, so we should have a nice place to play. Rumor has it that Bev Rowin Hartman and Linda Ransleben Haddad are cooking up some decorating surprises.

As you recall, Sue McPeak promised a quilt for raffle at the reunion, and it is finished, and it is gorgeous!  Thank you, Sue!

You will be entered into the raffle for every $10.00 that you send as a donation.

If you gave a donation at the gathering in October, this will, of course be counted. What a deal! If you would like to support this endeavor, please send a check to:

                                         Jerry Adams
                                         2608 North Garfield
                                         Midland, TX 79705

Here are our present assets:

$1,100 on hand for DVD sales
                                            1,000 contributed so far
                                          $2,100 total assets

Our current estimate is $3,200 needed to defray reunion costs, leaving us a target of $1,100.

We hope that you have a happy and prosperous 2009. We know that you will be having a really good time in October when we see you in San Angelo.

We realize more and more how important are our connections with friends of a lifetime, and our unique opportunity to celebrate together is getting closer:

Below you will find the Schedule of Events for the Reunion weekend, including:

  • Reunion Mixer on Friday night, featuring a “Movie Night” theme cooked up by Bev Rowin Hartman, Sue Pittman McPeak and Linda Ransleben Haddad.  Should be a Hollywood-worthy event.

  • Golf Tournament Saturday morning planned by Mike and Vicki Neace.  Given Mike's wacky sense of humor and Vicki's organizational talent, this is something not to miss.

  • Tour of Old San Angelo, also Saturday morning, featuring an appearance by our own Miss Hattie (Karen Barnes Smith).

  • Dinner and Music You Will Remember on Saturday night orchestrated by a deejay you will like. Bring your dancin' shoes....you will want to move.  Buddy photo ops will be abundant and provided by our own professional photographer.

  • Saturday Night Drawing for the Beautiful Quilt provided to us by the talented and generous Sue Pittman McPeak.

  • Gospel Sing-Along on Sunday morning led by Lynn Money and Marshall Clark and featuring a praise group of thousands (well, a bunch).  Guaranteed to send you home with joy in your heart.

Mostly, there will be time for you to visit dear friends and to remember how lucky we were to hail from a dusty West Texas town called Monahans.
