The MHS Class of 1952's 50th Reunion was a complete success!!!   Twenty-five classmates attended, many with their spouses. The turnout was wonderful as the class had lost ten members and could not locate four others.  Fifty-two people signed in including some visitors from other classes.   The Class of '52 started out with 52 members --. only 46 of which went through the graduation ceremony.

The reunion was held at the AmeriSuites in Hurst, TX beginning Friday, Oct. 18th with registration.  That night everyone met at Abuelo's Mexican Restaurant for a delicious Mexican dinner.  Saturday morning began with a class meeting with J. L. Jordan, senior class president, presiding.  Each person went around the meeting room telling how they came to Monahans and when, how many children, grandchildren and great grandchildren they have.

After the class meeting everyone had lunch catered and enjoyed a time of visiting and catching up on old times. That night everyone went to Catfish & Co. for another wonderful meal, then back to the hotel for more visiting and picture taking.

Sunday morning ended the reunion with church services with Rev. Don McNerlin '52 and Rev. Gene Tone '51 leading the service.  Gene's wife, Billie Lou (Mitchell) Tone, who teaches sign language at her church, did the hymns in Sign Language as Billy Tune lead the group in hymns.  As a special treat, Tamara Sickels, wife of Henry "Duke" Sickels and recorded gospel singer, sang.

After the service everyone sadly said good-bye and agreed to meet again in San Antonio in 2004 for the Class of '52's 52nd Reunion -- scheduled for October 15 -17, 2004 (plans are to stay at the AmeriSuites on the RiverWalk, if possible).

If you enjoy this page be sure to tell:  Hugh Hewett, Alma (Watkins) Hewett's husband, who did such a wonderful job taking these pictures; Billie Lou (Mitchell) Tone for scanning the pictures and placing them into a digital format; and Myra (Taylor) Hays for sending everything with name labels and great explanations.
