Swim Team Takes Third, Fifth Place

The Lobo Swim team competed in Big Spring last weekend Oct. 22-23.  The boys brought home third team overall, and the girls took fifth team overall.

In the first event, the girls competed in 200 yard medley relay.  Shayla Wallace, Lacey Nichols, Abbi Meeks and Sarah Loehman placed third with time of 2:14.34.

Zac Vaughn, Jarred Nall, Brandon Nichols and Justin Spinks swam the boys 200 yard medley relay, taking first place with the time of 1:50.

In the girls 200 yard freestyle, Alex Dycus swam 2:40.81, Marilyn Bingham swam 2:51.47 and Kayli Greenfield swam 2:57.54.

Justin Spinks swam 2:06.22 in the boys 200 yard freestyle to grab third place.

Abbi Meeks swam 2:44.94 in the girls 200 yard individual medley event.

In the boys 200 yard individual Medley,  Zac Vaughn claimed third with 2:17.91 and John Ray swam 2:32.21.

Sarah Loehman placed sixth with a time of 28.39 in the girls 50 yard freestyle.  Lacey Nichols swam 31.91 in the 50 yard freestyle.

Jarred Nall swam in the boys 50 yard freestyle with the time of 27.94.

In the girls 100 yard butterfly Sarah Loehman claimed sixth Place with 1:13.12.   Abbi Meeks swam 1:20.77 in the 100 yard butterfly.

In the girls 100 yard freestyle Shayla Wallace took fourth place with 1:06.60.

Hillary Torbett swam 1:11.45 and while Alex Dycus swam 1:13.24 in the 100 yard freestyle.

David Phariss swam 1:02.73 in the boys 100 yard freestyle.

Marilyn Bingham swam 7:38.97 while Kayli Greenfield swam 7:45.11 in the girls 500 yard freestyle event.

Lacey Nichols, Kayli Greenfield, Hillary Torbett and Rachel Shrauner posted a time of 2:09.30 in the girls 200 yard freestyle relay.

Jarred Nall, David Phariss and Justin Spinks grabbed sixth place in boys 200 yard freestyle relay with 1;47.29.

Shayla Wallace claimed sixth place in the girls 100 yard back stroke with 1:16.87.

Hillary Torbett swam 1:21.94 in 100 yard backstroke.

In the boys 100 yard backstroke, Zac Vaughn took second place with 58.76 and Justin Spinks took fourth with 1:09.03

Rachel Shrauner swam 1:23.92 and Lacey Nichols swam 1:26.79 in the girls 100 yard breaststroke.

Brandon Nichols took second with 1:09.91 and Jarred Nall took fourth with 1:11.75 in the boys 100 yard breaststroke.

Abbi Meeks, Alex Dycus, Shayla Wallace and Sarah Loehman claimed fifth place in the girls 410 yard freestyle relay with 4:29.85

For the last event, Zac Vaughn, David Phariss, John Ray and Brandon Nichols claimed second place in the 400 yard freestyle relay with a time of 3:49.60.

The next meet for the Lobo Swim Team will be Oct. 29 and 30 at McMurray University in Abilene.
