After falling in three games to Coronado in a Saturday dual, the Lady Loboes brought the Mustangs to the home court. Monahans still did not end the night with the match win, but was far from empty handed. The Ladies put up strong resistance and were able to come away with a game win, this time pushing Coronado into four games.

Coronado took the first game fairly quickly 15-25. In game two, the Green just could not get within two points of the Lady Mustangs, falling 18-25.

Heather Schulz (15) got game three off to a good start with an ace. Monahans kept scoring until the fourth pint, and continued to fend off the Mustangs, who were eventually able to tie with the ladies at 11.

Bailey Marcum (23) lost a contact lens on the court after the next serve, which brought the game to a short halt. When she returned , the battle became fiercer than it had been all night, and soon tied at 16.

Monahans and Coronado battled for one-point leads  for the remainder of  the game, but when Monahans was at a 26-25 advantage, Marcum finished the game off with an ace.

The confidence of the game-three win was not enough to carry the team through game four.

Twice, the Mustangs were able to get an eight-point lead over the Ladies, but Monahans made an impressive rally and sneaked up to just one point behind Coronado, 22-23.

The comeback was enough to bring the crowds to their feet when Coronado called a time out, but a Mustang kill gave Coronado the two-point lead they needed, and when a Lady Lobo kill when out of bounds, the game ended 22-25.

Marcum made a shining 10 kills,10 digs and five blocks. She also served three aces.

Schulz also served three aces for the night. Schulz had seven kills, eight digs and a block.

Kaitlin Mitchell (12) had 20 assists, four kills and two digs.

Jordan Latham (20) served up two aces, 11 digs, two blocks and one kill.

Kati Holly (5) had three kills, one assist, two blocks, five digs and an ace.

Kristi Holly (21) had three digs, a block and a kill.

Candace Cutbirth (10) contributed eight digs, while Senior Kristi Wilson (4) had one.

The Varsity now has a 22-9 record.
