Bond Overview

The Monahans-Wickett-Pyote independent School District Board of Trustees unanimously approved a $140 million bond referendum to be included on the May 4, 2019 election ballot. The proposed bond package based upon the recommendations of the 21-member Community Focused Committee, which spent five months studying current and future district needs to educate today’s learners. The committee prioritized their findings as follows: 1) Safety and security of students and staff, 2) Potential growth due to economic dynamics, 3) Modernization of classroom space, and 4) Address aging facilities.

The proposed bond package includes districtwide renovations and upgrades in the following areas:

  • Safety & Security upgrades at every school
  • Monanhans High School Transformation
  • Career & Technology Expansion
  • Walker Junior High Renovations
  • New Elementary School & Upgrades at Cullender and Tatom
  • Technology & Modern Learning Environments

Early voting begins April 22 and continues through April 30 at the MWPISD Administration Building (606 South Betty Street) with weekend voting on Saturday, April 27. Learn more about the proposed bond program using the left navigation menu.
